We are both back from Rome! I'm currently in my bed after an 8 hour sleep from last night!

Mom has been sleeping for the past 10 hours and is still going strong! Ha!

We had a great time and have many pictures, gifts, and memories to share!

Trevi fountain

We made 3 wishes at the Trevi fountain, which means we will be back some day! :)

Also stopped at the Spanish steps. So crowded!

Vatican

Just took a tour of the Vatican! So many interesting stories behind this building! A lot has happened here! We got to admire works of art by Michelangelo, Rafael, and Salvador Dali. We even saw the switching of the guards at 1:00! Neat!

Now we are at the Pantheon having lunch. Mom got to go inside and see Raphael's tomb with me. :) 

After this we are off to the Trevi fountain!

Florence and Tuscany

We went to Florence yesterday and passed through Tuscany on the way. Beautiful! Just like in the movies! We went by several vineyards. Driving back with the sun setting was even better.

We met Mr. David! ;) We got a photo....when you weren't supposed to take photos. Oops! Beautiful churches all over! We listened to the church bells from the bell tower chime. :) One of them was 1000 years old! Americans have no idea what old really is!

Mom did A LOT of Christmas shopping and I....did a lot of ME shopping!:)

Now we are in a taxi and are going to take a tour of the Vatican, the Colleseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, and mom still has to see the inside of the Pantheon! (I saw it on one of my "wandering" days)

Just to rub it in

We ate on the small cobblestone streets of Italy today and listened to these fellas! And now we are eating these while I type this in front of the Pantheon at night!

Exploring with Mom

Slept in late today, then moved in to our B & B. Kind of sketchy area but charming on the inside! We took a double decker bus tour around Rome. We sat on top and took a couple of great photos.a

Tomorrow we are off to Tuscany and Florence! I'm excited to see some green! (and ok, maybe drink some wine too) ;)

Wandering again

Today was a very fun day for me! I got to wander again! Mon still has her conference and won't be back to the hotel until after 10 pm. :( but it is her last day so from tomorrow on she will be exploring with me!

Today I went to the Castel Sant'Angelo, the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and wandered the small shops and streets of Italy. It was wonderful!

Not sure what is on the agenda for.tomorrow, but I'm excited!

My wandering adventures!

Today I wandered to Piazza S. Pietro. Beautiful! Mom and I have tours to go inside sometime later this week, but this is what it looks like on the outside!

Some Italian dude asked if he could buy me coffee...and was very upset when I said no. Ha! Slightly creepy! Good thing I have my mace! ;)

Elise is in Rome!

Hello! I'm in Rome! I have had a hard time finding WiFi so sorry about the delay!

I had a fun layover in London! That is quite the confusing airport though. I love the accents there! I even met a Bears fan who commented on my Packer sweatshirt. Ha! I heard they won too. (Yay!)

Today Mom is at her conference while I took a bus to the center of Rome to explore! I'm now at a restaurant (Paolo) having pizza for lunch. I'm going to try gelato for the first time also!  There are so many people here! And they all drive like crazy! :S

The food is so good. I had cannelloni for dinner last night. But their Coke tasted different, and their coffee is STRONG! But I like that. :) I was told that tonight we will be going out for a nice dinner. Wonder what I will have to eat!

I will try to find WiFi periodically so you guys might get 3 updates in one day! :)

Elise is in Chicago!

Just passed through security and now have to wait for 2 hours for my flight. Grabbing a quick bite to eat and then I'm off to do some quality people watching. :)

Packing

Mom's ready to go! I'm not! No surprise there! ;) but she leaves tomorrow and I leave Saturday!
